Bollington Festival Players
Bollington Festival Players are an award winning, local amateur theatre group based in Bollington, Cheshire. The group started in 1964 and will be celebrating their 60th anniversary this year!
Our group has been entertaining the local area with plays and pantomimes ever since and welcomes members from the age of 9 years old to, well, whatever age it is you decide you want to remain performing. Our junior and adult cast have the opportunity to work together during our annual pantomime and our summer showcases. Juniors can join us for workshops between shows which works on a variety of skills, such as, dancing, singing and acting. Adult members can expect an annual play, which over the years, has seen many a comedy and tragedy (or both at once) grace our stage. We try our best to hold many social events for both our adult and junior society and committee members throughout the year and aim to fundraise so we can keep putting on wonderful performances for our audiences to enjoy!
There is always the opportunity to create, and we are always welcoming new members into the society who, very often, go on to direct and produce their own show down the line! This years line up will feature our autumn play, ‘Blackadder’, directed by Rebekah Tomkinson, which will be performed in October, 2024 and to kick off the new year, our wonderful pantomime, ‘Aladdin’ , will be set free by our directors, Amanda Rosenberg and Ashley Hamp in January, 2025.
